Last Friday, our intern Lennart Kerkhoff stood at the workbench for the very last time. Not only has he now completed his internship, but he has also graduated from his Level 4 Mechanical Engineering program at Hoornbeeck College in Amersfoort.
Lennart: “Over the years at school, I built several small machines, and control technology was a part of that. At RDA, over the past nine weeks, I was able to further specialise and expand my knowledge in the field of control technology.”
About his work at RDA and the atmosphere: “On a daily basis, I worked on building and testing control units. But my main project was building a complete test cabinet for RDA. I’m quite proud of that, and I hope RDA will make good use of it in the future. I really enjoyed my time in Udenhout: the atmosphere here is great, and I love the down-to-earth Brabant attitude. We laughed a lot, and I learned a lot.”
The transition from school to his first “official” job is seamless: this week, Lennart started at the company (and RDA customer!) Kerkhoff Bedrijfsdeuren & Montage, owned by his father, Maarten Kerkhoff, and mother. Lennart has enthusiastically begun working full-time as a Service & Maintenance Technician: “I’ll be heading out on my own, on my way to customers. I’m looking forward to it, because the real learning starts now!”
Lennart, thanks again and best of luck! And remember: if you ever run into a technical problem at a customer’s site, we’re always happy to help. 😊
